HRCH Hunters Marsh Semi-Automatic MH
Semi was born on May 20th 2005 and is the result of a Kim Moses (RIP) breeding between Eli (Semaphores Two Creeks) and Ugo (Hunters Marsh U-Go-Get-Er).
He was one of 3 in that litter and he was the largest and most interested in me at the time so I picked him. I first brought Semi home from Kim’s summer home in Harrisville Michigan on Saturday July 9th 2005.

Eli, is what I have been breeding for 30 years to produce–excellent conformation, wonderful marking ability, an exceptional water dog and great temperament. He is from bloodlines that are truly exceptional. He has it all. His sire is FC-AFC-CFC-CAFC Chenna River Chavez, his grand-sire is all-time great NFC-FC-NAFC-AFC-CNFC-CFC-CAFC Ebonstar’s Lean Mac. Eli’s dam is our Jasmine Master Hunter who completed the St. Louis Master National (one of 54 dogs out of 237 dogs that started the National). Jasmine was the only dog to not handle on any of the marks. She was perfect. Even the Judges said she was the epitome of what a great lab should be. Eli’s grand-mother is Hunters Marsh Special Tea Master Hunter, sister to 6 Field Champions. At 11 ½ years of age she was winning 200 dog pheasant competitions. His grandsire is FC AFC Skywatch Radar. The breeding that produced Eli was done twice.
The resulting dogs have done everything the owners asked of them. Eli won the only derby I ran him in. He completed his Hunting Retriever Champion title in 8 straight passes and his Master title in 6 straight passes. Not an easy thing to do. His litter-mates have 16 derby points qual wins, and has open placement, another won 2 derbys , another got 9 derby points and there are 7 Hunting Retriever Champions and 4 Master Hunters as well as wonderful hunting dogs. |

Around Dec 1st 2005 after the photos below I sent Semi to Bill Moses for 4 months. Bill worked on obedience and force fetched Semi during that time. Semi was doing pile work when he came home sometime around March 2006.

Semi’s first hunt test in Williamston on June 4th 2006. This was MIHRC club and he passed this started test with no problem. No lack in desire in that dog.
